Your mission

Collectibles is the most exciting new product Displate has launched in years — a format purpose-built for collectors, entering major retail for the first time, backed by some of the most iconic licensed IP in entertainment and sports. You'll own the artwork that makes it real. Collectibles Production Artist wanted! This role is part creative, part production: adapting existing Displate artwork for trading-card scale, developing original designs where the format demands it, and building the design system that takes this product from launch to a full catalog. The key instinct here isn't resizing — it's knowing when a composition has to be rebuilt entirely to work at small scale. Reports to the Senior Creative Lead. Works closely with Licensing, Creative, and Retail.

Your responsibilities
  • Develop original collectibles-specific designs where existing assets aren't suitable
  • Adapt existing Displate artwork for collectibles format — recompose, retouch, enhance for trading-card scale
  • Maintain high-volume output across entertainment, sports, anime, and gaming IP
  • Prepare all artwork to print-ready specs for metal substrate production
  • Manage licensor submission and revision workflows for collectibles artwork
  • Build and maintain the collectibles design system: compositional templates, typography standards, visual hierarchy guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Senior Creative Lead to ensure artwork and packaging are visually cohesive
  • Identify opportunities for exclusive series, chase variants, and collector-targeted sets
  • Monitor the TCG and trading card market to stay current on design trends and collector preferences
  • Partner with Licensing on IP asset availability, usage rights, and approvals
  • Work with Retail and Sales to meet channel-specific requirements (Target, Best Buy, and others)
  • Coordinate with the international design team on shared assets and production standards
Your skills & experience
  • 2–4+ years as a graphic designer, production artist, or illustrator with strong small-format or collectible design work in your portfolio
  • Experience adapting existing artwork for new formats, sizes, or product surfaces — ideally in a collectibles, publishing, or licensed products context
  • Trading card, TCG, or small-format collectible design experience is a strong plus (Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, sports cards, or similar)
  • Experience working with licensed IP and within licensor style guidelines
  • Solid print production skills: color management, bleed/trim specs, pre-press
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong eye for composition, hierarchy, and detail at reduced scale — you know what makes a collectible feel premium
  • Highly organized; comfortable managing high asset volume across multiple IP categories simultaneously
  • Genuine understanding of collector culture and the TCG space — you know what collectors respond to and why
