Your mission

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Licensing Manager – Anime to join our dynamic Business Development team. Your mission is to be responsible for managing and growing the licensing partnerships for our anime-related content, collaborating with top brands and licensors to drive business expansion. If you have a deep love for anime, a strategic mindset, and an entrepreneurial spirit, this is the role for you.

Your responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with anime licensors, brands, and content creators to secure new licensing deals and expand existing partnerships.
  • Lead negotiations for licensing contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the company while respecting the integrity and values of the brands you work with.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Department to build and execute promotional strategies for anime licensing partnerships. This includes product launches, seasonal campaigns, and cross-brand collaborations.
  • Proactively identify potential anime licensors, complementary brands, and cross-industry collaborations to expand the portfolio and drive business growth.
  • Own and drive the annual revenue targets for anime licensing, working closely with other departments to achieve set goals.
  • Collaborate with the Art Team to plan and create high-quality art and product content for licensed anime properties, ensuring it resonates with the target audience.
  • Regularly report sales results, track performance metrics, and prepare royalty reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the verification and management of licensing-related documents such as contracts, Certificates of Residence, Beneficial Owner Statements, and invoices.
  • Represent the company at anime-related licensing events and conventions, such as Anime Expo, Tokyo International Anime Fair, and others, to network and explore new opportunities.
Your skills & experience
  • Minimum 5 years in licensing, with specific experience in anime and related properties considered a major plus.
  • A deep understanding and appreciation for anime culture, trends, and the anime fandom. Familiarity with key anime franchises and industry players is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of licensing contracts, negotiation strategies, and best practices in the anime sector.
  • Proficiency in English is required. Japanese language skills are a bonus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while being a collaborative team player.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive with a solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for building strong, lasting relationships.
