Your mission

As a Software Quality Engineer at Displate, you’ll become an essential member of one of our cross-functional product teams. Your role goes far beyond just testing – you’ll be a true partner in building quality from the ground up. From the earliest stages, you’ll actively participate in planning and refinement sessions, asking critical (and sometimes tough) questions about risks, edge cases, and missing details. You’ll research the best approaches for challenging features, create test cases, maintain and expand our automated test suite (primarily using Playwright), and jump into exploratory testing when needed. Your ultimate goal? To help the team make smart quality decisions and deliver features our users will love – and that we can all be proud of.

Your responsibilities
  • Help teammates deliver the best quality solutions for Displate lovers.
  • Be an advocate of quality.
  • Work with developers, PMs, and UX to define specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Help the team define potential risks and vulnerabilities in projects.
  • Prepare automated tests for current and future functionalities.
  • Prepare test checklists and test plans, and execute them.
  • Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with the team to identify and fix defects.
  • Share knowledge about software quality and good practices.
  • Manually test parts of the functionalities we are delivering.
Your skills & experience
  • 3 years of experience in a QA/Tester position.
  • Knowledge of testing methods and technologies; understanding of formal software development processes (SDLC).
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive mindset and a can-do attitude.
  • Problem-solving mindset and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail, both visual and procedural.
  • Desire for learning and self-development.
  • Experience in defining QA processes for a project team.
  • Experience in test automation (we use Playwright and TypeScript).
  • Experience in API testing.
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Good command of English in both speech and writing.

Nice to have

  • Experience in working version control systems (we are using Gitlab).
  • Experience with configuration of GitLab pipelines.
  • SQL basics (we are using Postgres).
  • Ability to conduct code reviews regarding internal standards.
  • Basic architectural knowledge of communication standards in service-architecture.
  • Experience with Cypress - we still have some legacy test written in it.
